About Radford Motor Company
In 1948, Harold Radford opened the doors to his automobile business. Radford took chassis’ from the likes of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin (and even Mini), and customized them according to their Customers wishes. This process was known as “Coachbuilding” and it became highly regarded in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Testament to this was Radford’s client list, which included Steve McQueen, all 4 Members of the Beatles, and even Enzo Ferrari! The business eventually folded after larger, mainstream manufacturers finally realized the value of customization, however; the desire for highly exclusive, and unique vehicles is once again on the rise and as a result, a team of entrepreneurs and car fanatics has resurrected the Radford brand and is launching a new range of limited edition, coachbuilt Supercars.
Co-founder of the new business, Formula 1 World Champion, Jenson Button is leveraging all of his past (and present) racing experience to help design cars that are not only an assault on the senses, but are considered pieces of automotive art.
Radford’s first model is the Type 62-2, which is a tribute to the stunning 1969 Lotus Type 62 race car. With flowing lines and incredibly lightweight components, the Type 62-2 is a perfect blend of the past and the present.
Just 62 examples of the Type 62-2 are being manufactured, making each one a highly exclusive masterpiece. And with literally thousands of customization options, every car will be considered unique, having been tailored to each Customers exact desires and specifications…the Radford way.
